Three Control Modes of Silo Blockage Cleaning Machine

Silo blockage cleaning machine (arch breaker machine) is widely adopted to eliminate coal arching, wall adhesion and blockage inside raw coal bunkers and coal chutes in thermal power plants. Reasonable control mode selection directly affects anti-blocking efficiency, equipment service life and energy consumption. Different working conditions require matched control strategies. Below we introduce three mainstream control modes of silo blockage cleaning machine and their applicable scenarios.
1. Timing Automatic Circulation Control Mode
Timing automatic circulation control is the most commonly used mode for continuous coal conveying systems. Operators can set fixed running duration and standby interval according to coal humidity, material viscosity and feeding volume. The silo blockage cleaning machine automatically starts and stops periodically without manual intervention.
This working mode realizes active pre-cleaning. The rotating cleaning mechanism regularly removes sticky coal before thick coal scale accumulates on the silo wall. It effectively avoids the formation of coal arches from the source. This mode fits stable production lines with consistent raw coal properties and continuous feeding requirements. It can work cooperatively with electro-hydraulic slide gate valve and silo wall flow aid equipment to maintain long-term smooth blanking.
2. On-site Manual Operation Control Mode
Manual operation control serves as emergency and debugging control mode. Workers can manually trigger start, stop and forward/reverse rotation of the silo blockage cleaning machine via local control cabinet. This mode is mainly used for equipment inspection, routine maintenance, blockage emergency treatment and on-site commissioning after installation.
When severe sudden blockage occurs inside the silo, staff can manually start the machine to carry out targeted dredging. Manual mode is also essential during regular equipment inspection to check operating vibration, noise and rotating status. It is usually configured as auxiliary control matched with automatic modes for all types of arch breaker machine.
3. Interlock Linked Control Mode
Interlock linked control supports coordinated operation with other equipment on the conveying production line. The silo blockage cleaning machine can realize signal linkage with coal feeders, belts, electro-hydraulic slide gate valves and material level sensors. The equipment automatically starts or stops following the operating state of upstream and downstream devices.
For example, the blockage cleaning machine will activate automatically when the feeder starts feeding, and shut down synchronously when the conveyor system stops. Combined with blockage detection sensors, it can also trigger automatic dredging once material arching is detected. This intelligent linkage mode reduces unnecessary idle operation, saves power consumption and realizes unattended automatic production. It is an ideal choice for modern automated thermal power conveying systems.
Each control mode has its own strengths and applicable working conditions. We can configure single mode or mixed multi-mode control system for your silo blockage cleaning machine according to your on-site automation requirements, silo structure and raw coal characteristics.
